About Me

Rachel Feit is a freelance hornist from Madison, Wisconsin. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied under Daniel Grabois and Jeff Scott. For two years of her time at UW-Madison she was a member of the Nova Brass quintet, a close-knit group that performed in downtown Madison and its surrounding areas. She attended the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival as well as the Kinhaven Young Artist Seminar, both of which provided extensive chamber studies under notable musicians such as Jeff Scott, Monica Ellis, Toyin Spellman-Diaz, and Adrienne Kim. Immediately following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Rachel moved to Cleveland, where she completed her Master of Music degree under the guidance of esteemed members of The Cleveland Orchestra, Richard King and Nathaniel Silberschlag. She has performed with several orchestras, including the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Edgewood Chamber Orchestra, Middleton Community Orchestra, and the Madison Community Orchestra.

Rachel shares her love of music through private instruction and outreach work; she travels to students' homes for private lessons, teaches horn at the Aurora School of Music, instructs music camps and outreach programs at the Fairmount Center for the Arts, and leads after-school music programs for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District through the Cleveland Play House. When she’s not performing or teaching, Rachel is taking care of her two delinquent cats, Archie and Nina.
